RAAY Annual Day

RAAY Annual Day for children with special needs is the most eagerly awaited gala at RAAY Foundation. It is a chance for the staff, parents, and the children to showcase their creative talents on a dais. It is a coming together of the entire RAAY family and with nothing less than the aplomb of a festival. The planning begins two months in advance from venue booking to event flow down to the minutest details of décor and guest list, everything is planned to the tee.

The theme chosen for the event was “Nursery Rhymes”, the décor was specially curated by the parents. Two of our lovely parent mothers become the hosts. Their spontaneity and humor kept the audience in splits at all times.

After a welcome dance by the parents of the children, we had a series of performances on famous rhymes like “Nach Re Mora”, “Baby Shark Do”,” Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai” followed by a thought-provoking skit on female infanticide by Sitaram Compound School.

The most riveting of all the performances was delivered by Shardashram School depicting the coronation ceremony of the great leader of Maharashtra Shivaji Maharaj.

Our distinguished panel of judges shared their experiences on disability as well as the need for inclusion and advocacy for differently-abled. It was an inspiration for the parents to hear their journey.

The event ended with a note of thanks, national anthem and a lot of beautiful memories!
