Empowering women is key to building a future we want.
– Amartya Sen
At Raay Foundation, women’s empowerment is at the heart of everything we do, going beyond awareness to create meaningful and lasting change. Through our initiatives, we educate women about their health, rights, and dignity, while also recognizing that true empowerment comes from economic independence. Our Livelihood Program focuses on supporting single women and marginalized groups by equipping them with employable skills, strengthening infrastructure, and promoting small enterprises to create sustainable income opportunities. By providing end-to-end support from capacity building to market linkages we ensure that women are not only able to earn but also grow with confidence, dignity, and independence. We firmly believe that when a woman is empowered, she uplifts her family, strengthens her community, and contributes to building a more equitable society.
We are committed to creating sustainable employment opportunities for women by combining skill-based training with livelihood initiatives. Our programs are designed to empower women especially those from marginalized and low-income backgrounds by equipping them with practical skills that lead to immediate and long-term income generation. Through structured training, women learn vocational skills tailored to local market needs, while our animal husbandry initiatives provide them with assets, knowledge, and ongoing support to build reliable sources of income. By integrating training with hands-on livelihood opportunities, we enable women to achieve financial independence, strengthen their families’ economic stability, and build a future rooted in dignity and self-reliance.
The Women Empowerment Program has already reached and transformed the lives of over 10,000 rural poor families, creating a ripple effect of change across communities. Through skills training, livelihood opportunities, and confidence-building initiatives, many women who were once struggling for survival are now able to earn a stable income and support their families with dignity. They have become active contributors to household expenses, ensured their children’s education, improved access to healthcare, and even started small enterprises that provide jobs to others in their villages. Beyond income generation, the program has helped women build resilience, self-confidence, and decision-making power, enabling them to stand tall as role models within their communities. This collective progress has not only reduced poverty but has also strengthened social bonds, as women come together to support one another through self-help groups and community networks. Building on this success, RAAY Foundation continues to expand its initiatives across Maharashtra and Karnataka, determined to deliver last-mile services and ensure that no woman is left behind in her journey toward independence, prosperity, and a better future for her family.
