Education enables a foundation step toward economic growth and human development. Any missing step on the ladder to the destination of success can be brutal for the climber.

Any Indian resident of the age group 6-14 has the right to receive free elementary education without discrimination. The government launched Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid-day meals to reduce socio-educational gaps and improve the gross attendance ratio.

The insufficient government funds for scholarships and schemes for higher education programs compelled many to drop out of public schools and universities and work as blue collared workers in the unorganized sector. The improper implementation of existing higher education schemes for underprivileged sections hampers their development as insightful citizens.

Many non-governmental and non-profit organizations wish to tap into this utmost potential of individuals who are inadequate to pursue higher studies due to economic and social insecurities. Raay Foundation is working towards achieving a similar vision by providing advanced scholarships to underprivileged individuals irrespective of their background. The organization conducts Life skill training sessions for the growth of 300 children.

Raay Foundation partnered with Prerana, Kodak Education Foundation, Snehasadan, and SAMPARC to work towards providing higher education through their RAAY Scholarship Program.

Prerana- They provide financial assistance to praiseworthy students from underprivileged backgrounds, from PUC 1st Year (11th grade) to college or professional degrees. Counselling helps them to boost their self-esteem and morale. Prerana follows a 3-step selection process for deserving students for the scholarship program. The process begins with the Nurture Merit Test(NMT), interviews with candidates and a visit to the applicant’s house to ascertain their living conditions. Through regular interactions and periodic training, it measures the level of progress and active participation of the candidates.

Kotak Education Foundation- Their mission is to support children & youth from underprivileged families through different education-based interventions to rise above the poverty line & lead a life of dignity through sustainable processes.

Snehasadan- For the past 58 years, it has been working towards providing a safe home and bright future for around 30,000 homeless street children in Mumbai, India.

SAMPARC- Established by Shri Amit Kumar Banerjee to provide a new identity to the orphans, destitute and children of sex workers under a community umbrella. For the past 58 years, it has been working towards providing a safe home and bright future for around 30,000 homeless street children in Mumbai, India.
