An unprecedented food catastrophe is emerging as a result of conflict, economic upheavals, extreme weather, and rising fertilizer prices. Up to 828 million people in the world don’t know where they will get their next meal. Taking action now to save lives or investing in measures to ensure food security and stability is the need of the hour.
At Raay foundation, we are working to eradicate this hunger through a number of our programs. We’ve organized a number of food drives over the past year to give folks who don’t get enough food. We help everyone who needs food, including the homeless, immigrants, employees on construction sites, underprivileged children, and migrants. Since the lockdown, we have helped thousands of people throughout Mumbai by distributing meals. We have reached as many people as possible, and improve their lives in some small way.
We are motivated to continue because we see the sense of relief and joy on their faces when they accept the food parcels. But with each food drive we do, we become more aware of the number of people who depend on us for assistance and for whom access to three meals a day is simply unattainable.
As a result, we urge as many people as possible to get involved and support our project because even modest actions like volunteering or making a donation, no matter how large or small, can have a significant impact on someone else’s life.
